5 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Wait to Sell Your Home

5 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Wait to Sell Your Home
Less Competition
When you compare October 2014 with October 2013, the number of homes for sale in Sarasota, Manatee, and Charlotte County drops over 7%. (Source: Trendgraphix) There are currently far less homes for consumers to choose from which means yours is more likely to be seen.
Strong Demand
Interest in Gulf Coast area homes for sale remains strong. Despite a reduction in new listings, the number of showings is at the same level it was this time last year. This is a good indication that if you sell now at the right price, you are going to have offers.
New Construction is on the Rise
Sightings of urban cranes and activity on dirt lots can only mean one thing: new construction. From homes going up in Lakewood Ranch and Venice to the rise of chic condominiums throughout downtown Sarasota and Longboat Key, a plethora of attractive listings are on their way to hitting the market. Down the line that can mean only one thing: competition.
Moving Up? Your Timing Will Never Be Better
Pulsenomics surveyed more than 100 expert panelists on where they expect home values will go in the future. On average, respondents believed that by February 2018, prices will exceed their pre-recession peak. Waiting to buy your next home will cost you. What’s more, if you buy now you can lock in a 30-year mortgage with interest rates in the low 4’s, instead of over 5% – where they are expected to rise by this time next year.
Take Charge of Your Life
It may be time to ask yourself why you are interested in selling and determine whether it’s worth waiting any longer. If you believe it may lead to a higher purchase price, is that more important than the needs of your family, your health, and the freedom to live life on your own terms?
